Crochet Puff Stitch

Crochet puff stitches are easy and fun to make! They also work great for a lot of different projects.

You can use puff stitches to make blankets, pillow covers, or you can use them in borders. I used a combination of 3 puff stitches for the border of my Cozy Cotton Throw Blanket. So you can’t go wrong when it comes to puff stitches.

What stitches are used to make this variation of the puff stitch?

For this puff stitch pattern, you will need to know how to make a chain, a double crochet, and how to draw up loops on your hook to make a puff stitch.

Down below you’ll find directions on how to make these stitches or you can also check out our YouTube channel for a guided a video tutorial.

ch – chain: Yarn over, pull through loop on hook.

dc – double crochet: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull through, yarn over and pull through first two loops on hook, yarn over and pull through last two loops on hook.

Puff Stitch – (yarn over, insert hook in stitch and pull though loop) 3 times in the same stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop through all 7 loops on hook.

ch sp – chain space.
