Double Crochet Mesh Stitch

The Double Crochet Mesh Stitch

The double crochet mesh stitch is one of my favorite stitches to use for crochet projects. It’s an open, loose stitch that’s perfect to use when making produce bags or market bags.

It’s also a very simple stitch to learn and would be great for beginners. So if you’re new to crochet and looking to add some stitches to your library, definitely try this one!

What stitches are used to make a crochet mesh stitch?

So for this stitch, you will only need to know 2 stitches. The first stitch is your basic chain stitch and the second is the double crochet stitch.

Down below you’ll find directions on how to make these stitches or you can also check out our YouTube channel for a guided video tutorial.

ch – chain: Yarn over, pull through loop on hook.

dc – double crochet: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull through, yarn over and pull through first two loops on hook, yarn over and pull through last two loops on hook.
