Free Round Crochet Coaster Pattern

Add some charm to your coffee table (or night stand) with these easy-to-make crochet coasters. The Boho Bloom Coasters are made in the round using cotton yarn. It’s a beginner friendly pattern that uses one of my favorite crochet motifs, which is the Sunburst Granny Square.

So if you’re familiar with this granny square, this pattern will be a breeze for you! There are only a few minor changes, like it staying a circle, but the stitches stay the same.

If you’re not familiar with this square and would love to see how one of these squares comes together before diving into this pattern, definitely check out the Sunburst Granny Square tutorial here. You’ll also find a step-by-step photo + guided video tutorial down below for this pattern as well!

So now that we have that covered, let’s talk all about the yarn you’ll need for this cute little coaster.

4 round crochet coasters in different colors.

The Yarn You’ll Need for These Boho Crochet Coasters

For the Boho Bloom Coasters, I used WeCrochet Dishie yarn, which is a worsted-weight cotton yarn. It’s a wonderfully soft cotton yarn that’s machine washable, dryable, and works amazing for crochet home decor projects!

I use this yarn often in my crochet kitchen patterns (like these washcloths, and this dish towel) and I can’t recommend it enough! It’s definitely one of my favorites to use when it comes to home decor.

Another few of my favorite cotton yarns to use and ones that would work well for this pattern are Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn, I Love This Cotton Yarn from Hobby Lobby, and Lily Sugar’n Cream Cotton yarn. Any one of those would work just as well!

If you do go with a different yarn than the ones that I just listed, I would recommend staying with a worsted-weight yarn. You could go with a lighter weight yarn, but the size might be a little off. Since gauge isn’t that necessary for this crochet pattern, it’s ok if your coaster comes out a little smaller or bigger.

As long as your happy with it, that’s all that matters. Alright, let’s talk real quick about some color options and then you’re all set to make this pattern!

Color Option Ideas for the Boho Bloom Coasters

There are so many fun color combinations you can make with this crochet coaster. You could keep it simple and make it using one color or you can use a different color for each row.

As you’ll see in the example photo down below, I made one coaster using one color and then I made another one using three different colors. I think they both turned out so cute, and both will add a fun pop to the coffee table.

I also liked that I was able to use up some yarn scraps when making the multi colored one! So if you have any yarn scraps laying around, I highly recommend using them for this pattern.
