Boho Crochet Coasters
My latest free crochet pattern is a simple boho-inspired coaster! These coasters are easy to crochet and use only a little bit of yarn. Making it a great stash-busting project!
They can also be made two different ways (Spiral Shell or Basic Circle), and the coaster has fringe on the outer edge. So if need some cute coasters, I think you’re going to enjoy making this fun + quick crochet pattern.
Inspiration
The inspiration for this pattern came from me simply needing some new coasters. This was also one of my older patterns that needed a serious update, so I thought now would be the perfect time to update this coaster pattern.
I also had some cotton yarn left over from another pattern, so I thought this would be a great way to use it! So let’s get into the nitty-gritty of how to make this pattern.
Make it Two Ways (Spiral Shell Coaster or Basic Circle Coaster)
This free crochet boho coaster pattern can be made in two different ways. You can either make the Spiral Shell version or you can make the Basic Circle version.
They both follow the same pattern, the only change is when you get to row 4. So you can either leave it as is and it will look like a cool spiral shell or you can add a few more stitches and it turns into a circle.
So it’s totally up to you what version you would like to make. You can also make both versions and have a cool collection of coasters!
Either way, this pattern is easy-to-make and it’s fun for all levels. It also includes step-by-step photos and a guided video tutorial.
What Type of Yarn Do You Use for Crochet Coasters
For this crochet coaster pattern, you will use worsted-weight cotton yarn. Cotton yarn is great to use for coasters because it’s so durable. It’s also great to use when something hot is put on it.
So for this pattern, I used one of my go-to cotton yarns which is WeCrochet Dishie Yarn. I absolutely love this yarn and have used it for multiple different home decor patterns.
It also comes in a variety of different colors, so there’s something for everyone. Alright, let’s start the pattern.

Hi! In round 4, you say to repeat after * but there isn’t a * in round 4. Are you referring to the * in round 3 there? Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for catching my mistake. There was suppose to be a * in round 4. I just fixed it, so it should say it correctly now. Thank you again! 😊
