Inspiration

The inspiration behind the easy crochet pencil pouch came from me needing a quick birthday present. I knew that I wanted to create something because there’s just something about receiving a home made gift! It makes it that much more special.

So I thought why not create a super easy pencil pouch that you can use for school or at home where you can put all your pencils and markers in. Something cute, yet easy enough to make in an hour.

After figuring out the construction of the crochet pencil pouch (which is really easy). I got to thinking about what type of yarn I wanted to use for my project. Cotton or Acrylic?!

Yarn Choice

I ended up making the crochet pencil pouch with cotton yarn because I wanted to pouch to have a summery feel to it. Plus, I feel cotton holds up really well and I love working with it.

However, this crochet project can be made with any type of yarn. So go through your yarn stash and see what you can find. I used left over cotton yarn from a frogged project. So I think I put mine to good use!

Anyways, let’s get into this pattern.
