How to Crochet this Blanket Scarf Pattern
You will start this crochet blanket scarf pattern by working your foundation chain, then you will set up your first row, followed by your second row, and then you’re going to repeat your second row until the very last row.
After you’ve completed your last row, you will then work in your ends and add the tassels. It’s a fun quick project that’s perfect for winter time and it also makes a wonderful gift!
Here’s a quick overview of the stitches you’ll use for this pattern:

The Yarn You’ll Use For This Crochet Pattern
For this crochet pattern, I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn in the color Fisherman. It’s a super soft bulky-weight yarn with great stitch definition.
I’ve been using Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn for a very long time and I absolutely love it! It’s one of my favorite bulky-weight yarns to use and it comes in so many different colors.
I highly recommend it for this project, but you can always substitute another yarn with the same weight for this pattern. Just make sure to do a gauge swatch as there are slight differences in weights.
Alright, let’s get started with our pattern!

Part 1: Fireside Blanket Scarf Pattern
With the color Fisherman, chain 46.

Finish off and work in ends.
Part 2: Adding Your Twisted Fringe
Now you will add the twisted fringe to both sides of the blanket scarf. Continue to follow the next set of steps:
Step 1: Reattach your yarn with a slipstitch to the left side of one of the ends of the blanket scarf.
Step 2: Pull the yarn 12 inches away from your blanket scarf.
Step 3: Use your crochet hook to twist the yarn clockwise 20 times.
Step 4: Place your finger in front of the twisted loop and bring your crochet hook to the front. The twisted loop should come together and be half the size you started with (6″ inches).
Step 5: Now slip stitch to the next stitch and repeat from step 2 for the remainder of the row.
Once you have completed one side, repeat the steps for the other side. Make sure to evenly place your twisted tassels along the edge. I was able to place 42 pieces of fringe along each side.
You’re finished.
I hope you enjoy your new blanket scarf!

Hello, I don’t know where I am going wrong but I can only make this work with a starting chain of 44, any ideas. I have tried at least 10 times, help!

Hi there, thank you for your question. Are you working in the 3rd chain when starting row 1? that would use the 2 chains from the beginning of the row making it 46.
