What’s great about this mini hearts is that you can make them in all different sizes, depending on the yarn.

How to Make Different Crochet Heart Sizes

One thing that I love about these crochet mini hearts is that you can totally make different sizes. So the stitches would stay the exact same, but the yarn determines what size it will be.

If you look at the photo below, I used two different cotton yarns. I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton Yarn, which is a number 4 yarn and a number 5 cotton yarn. My number 5 cotton yarn is from a yarn business called Ganxxet.

If you’re looking for high quality cotton yarn, I definitely recommend taking a look at their selection. But, let’s get back to these cute crochet hearts.

As you can tell, the light pink mini heart is way bigger than the dark pink mini heart. I used the exact same stitch count and everything. The only difference is the yarn and hook.

So its totally possible to make different versions of this pattern. Imagine using a bulky chunky number 6 yarn, I think that would look really good as well. I used this chunky yarn for one of my crochet scarfs and I’m thinking I’m going to try it for this project.

Yarn Suggestions for the Crochet Mini Heart

You can use any type of yarn for this project. I always recommend cotton, as I love using crocheting with cotton yarn. I even have a whole post on cotton yarn and projects! But it doesn’t matter what type of yarn you use.

You could possibly try acrylic or wool. Maybe alpaca or blended version of yarn. I think a chunky yarn would be really pretty too. I guess it all depends what you want and if your adding it to a project.
