How to Customize Your Ikea Moppe Storage Chest

So before you get started in giving your mini Moppe a makeover, here’s a quick list of things you’ll need:

  • Paint – I used Restyle paint in the color Vintage Pink.
  • Paint Brush – I only used one, but you could use two (one for the paint, and the other one for the mod podge).
  • Mod Podge Gloss.
  • Napkins – any napkin will work for this project.
  • Scissors.

Step 1: Paint your Ikea Moppe. Once the first layer of paint dries, give it a second layer of paint.

Step 2: Once your paint has dried, squirt some mod podge on the top portion of one of the storage boxes. Then spread it out using your paintbrush.

Step 3: Grab your napkin and peel of the back layer, then carefully place it on top of the storage box. Then gently push the napkin down with your fingers.

Step 4: Then squirt some mod podge on the napkin, and carefully spread out the mod podge with your paintbrush.

note – make sure to do this part gently or else your napkin will rip.

Step 5: Let the top portion of your box dry for a few hours, and then carefully trim the edges with a pair of scissors.

Step 6: Grab your mod podge again and glue the trimmed edges on the side of your box.
